NHL Team Lines (Depth Charts)
We created this page because of an apparent lack of an all encompassing NHL Depth Chart/Line Combinations list anywhere. Please offer updates and suggestions as these obviously change constantly, so we will do our best to stay on top of it. Our main resource is the indispensable Dobber Hockey’s Line Combinations calculator, which is now a pay-for resource but at $9.99 for the season, it’s well worth it. Defensive combinations can be found there as well, but we will only include them in the Power Play lines. This is the best and most updated resource.
This was never a realistic possibility. This will be left here but will no longer be updated. Go to Dobber’s site.
Also, check out Fantasy Hockey 911 for pretty accurate line combinations as well.

Pacific Division
I know, no one starts with the Pacific Division. But this is a Kings blog so..
LOS ANGELES KINGS
Forward Lines
Brown – Kopitar – Williams
King – Richards – Carter
Penner – Stoll – Lewis
Clifford – Fraser – Nolan
Power Play
Williams – Kopitar – Carter
Doughty – Richards
Penner – Stoll – Brown
Martinez – Voynov
Updated: 3.24.2012
NOTES: We’ve finally got to where I hoped we would be with the power play at the start of the season- Richards on the point on the first unit, and a bonafide sniper in the mix as well. I think this formation is going to really start paying dividends.
ANAHEIM DUCKS
Forward Lines
Perry – Getzlaf – Smith-Pelly
Blake – Koivu – Selanne
Bonino – Palmieri – Ryan
Belesky – Cogliano – Hagman
Power Play
Perry – Ryan – Selanne
Fowler – Getzlaf
Bonino – Koivu – Palmieri
Beauchemin – Visnovsky
Updated: 3.24.2012
NOTES: Interesting that they finally got Bobby Ryan in the first power play unit, except they have him not skating with Perry-Getzlaf or Koivu-Selanne. I guess this would be considered the third line?
DALLAS STARS
Forward Lines
Eriksson – Ribiero – Ryder
Ott – Benn – Morrow
Nystrom – Fiddler – Dvorak
Peterson – Vincour – Dowell
Power Play
Eriksson – Ribiero – Ryder
Larsen – Daley
Ott – Benn – Morrow
Goligoski – Robidas
Updated: 3.24.2012
NOTES: The top line has been killing it lately, but I still don’t think they have the depth to win a playoff series should they get in. Earlier combinations based on this post from Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News.
PHOENIX COYOTES
Forward Lines
Whitney – Langkow – Doan
Boedker- Hanzal – Vrbata
Gordon – Pouliot – Pyatt
Torres - Brule – Chipchura/Bissonnette
Power Play
Vrbata – Langkow – Doan
Whitney – Yandle
Boedker – Brule – Pyatt
Korpikoski – Ekman-Larsson
Updated 1.20.2012
NOTES: The Power Play combos are a bit of a guess as far as who is where on the second unit. It also looks like Ekman-Larsson might be getting time on the top unit.
SAN JOSE SHARKS

Marleau – Thornton – Pavelski
Clowe – Couture – Havlat
Mitchell – Handzus – Moore
Desjardins – Wingels – Winnik
Power Play
Marleau – Thornton – Couture
Pavelski – Boyle
Ferriero – Handzus – Wingels
Murray – Burns
Updated 3.24.2012
NOTES: While there is a seeming abundance of talent, for some reason, this lineup doesn’t seem that intimidating.
Northwest Division
CALGARY FLAMES

Glencross – Jokinen – Moss
Comeau – Jones – Stempniak
Buoma – Jackman – Kostopoulos
Power Play
Iginla – Jokinen – Tanguay
Babchuk – Giordano
Glencross – Jokinen – Stempniak
Butler – Bouwmeester
Updated 3.24.2012
NOTES: I honestly don’t understand how this team wins games. Jarome Iginla must but just that good. This team will not make the playoffs. It doesn’t help having Cammalleri injured.
COLORADO AVALANCHE
Forward Lines
Mueller – Duchene – Hedjuk
Landeskog – O’Reilly – Downie
Jones – Stastny – McGinn
Olver – McClement – McLeod
Power Play
Jones – Stastny – McGinn
Duchene – Barrie/Johnson
Landeskog – Downie – Mueller
O’Reilly – Hunwick
Updated 3.24.2012
NOTES: This lineup is young, but very talented. They could cause real problems for a first round playoff opponent.

Smyth – Horcoff – Omark
Eager – Belanger – Hordichuk
Power Play
Gagner – Nugent-Hopkins – Eberle

Updated 3.24.2012

MINNESOTA WILD

Powe – Brodziak – Johnson
Peters – Ortmeyer – Veilleux
Power Play
Heatley – Cullen – Setoguchi
Koivu – Gilbert
Christensen – Brodziak – Clutterbuck
Kampfer – Scandella
Updated 3.24.2012
NOTES: Oh, how the seemingly possibly mighty have sort of fallen. Mikko Koivu would be a superstar if he were on ANY other team.
VANCOUVER CANUCKS
Forward Lines
Raymond/D. Sedin – H. Sedin – Kassian
Booth – Kesler – Burrows
Higgins – Pahlsson – Hansen
Lapierre – Malhotra – Weise
Power Play
Raymond – Kesler – Burrows
H. Sedin – Edler
Booth – Higgins – Hansen
Bieksa – Gragnani
Updated 3.24.2012
NOTES: With the shooting ginger out, this is how they’ve adjusted. Honestly, for a team that is supposed to be one of the league’s best, not that intimidating. The addition of Pahlsson could be a huge boon for the playoffs. The Canucks’ website has a depth chart on it as well.
Central Division
CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS
Forward Lines
Brunette – Kane – Hossa
Kruger – Sharp – Stalberg
Bickell – Bolland – Shaw
Bollig – Frolik – Mayers
Power Play
Shaw – Sharp – Hossa
Keith – Seabrook
Stalberg – Bolland – Kane
Brunette – Oduya
Updated 3.24.2012
NOTES: The adjustment without Toews. I don’t think this team goes far without him in the playoffs. Previously reported on Twitter by Tracey Myers. The Blackhawks website also has a depth chart, but it does make a point of saying UNOFFICIAL. Some info also coming from Tim Sassone’s post on the Daily Herald.
COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS
Forward Lines
Nash – Letestu – Prospal
Atkinson – Brassard – Umberger
Dorsett – Johansen – Russell
Boll – Boyce – Gillies
Power Play
Atkinson – Nash – Brassard
Umbergerg – Nikitin
Dorsett – Letestu – Prospal
J. Johnson – Savard
Updated 3.24.2012
NOTES: Based on these combinations, it seems like Jack Johnson has already been relegated to the 2nd power play unit, unless someone wants to tell me that Dorsett-Letestu-Prospal is the #1 PP. Also thanks to The Cannon for laying it out.
DETROIT RED WINGS
Forward Lines
Bertuzzi – Datsyuk – Hudler
Nyquist - Filppula – Zetterberg
Miller – Abdelkader – Cleary
Holmstrom – Emmerton – Mursak
Power Play
Holmstrom – Datsyuk – Zetterberg
Kronwall – Stuart
Bertuzzi – Filppula – Hudler
Quincey – Smith
Updated 3.24.2012
NOTES: This is with Franzen and Lidstrom out. Even with so many unrecognizable names, I want no part of this team in the playoffs. Also thanks to J.J. from Wingin’ It In Mowtown, which is a Red Wings blog that you should definitely check out. He also noted that another set altogether should be considered when Babcock decides to separate Datsyuk and Zetterberg which inevitably happens at some point every season for a little while at least.

Updated 3.24.2012
NOTES: How the first place Blues do it. For my money, the team’s producers are a little green for the playoffs, but it will be interesting. This post was also helpful.

Updated 3.24.2012
NOTES: Impressively, the Isles top line stayed together for most of the season. As far as sources, the Islanders Official Twitter account is killing it. Additional sources: Lighthouse Hockey and Brian Compton. So many sources for the most unchanged of line combination in the league thus far this season.
NEW YORK RANGERS

Power Play

NOTES: As reported on twitter by Ian Mendes. Thanks to Ryan Classic for his help as well. This of course will likely change throughout the season with the growing pains of a young team.

Updated 10-11-11
NOTES: Through their first two tolerable games. Like I said before, it appears as though the team is heavy on wingers and short on centers, and they also don’t have any clear first line forwards, in my opinion.
